    Jacks back…and he’s serious

For many years…Kyle Jackways ‘Topgun’ themed A31 cefiro was a regular feature of the NZ scene, often progressing to the later rounds of events, Kyle would fairly be classed as one of the cornerstones of NZ drifting and its early years. Kyle was one of those guys who when he was on could beat just about anyone, and when he was off….well…let’s just leave it at that.

Known as much for his responsible drinking and after party antics as his driving skills, Jackways took time away from the sport after injuries in BMX (where he was a top ranked NZ rider) and MX ( Link here- NSFW ) , spending time as a judge for D1NZ which he says has given him a different perspective on the sport, but also made him hungry to get back out there again and away from what is one of the most difficult jobs around.  Kyle says he won’t miss the commentary teams constant efforts to get him shanked.

Kyle was pretty stoked to get behind the wheel finally of his long term build at the Taupo race track, and our man on the spot Paul from Autofocused supplied us with these images that show Jackways has certainly not forgotten where the loud pedal is.

Details on Kyles car are kept light as he is working with sponsors before a full feature, but its essentially a  180SX, RB26 Heart, Wheels by DTM, 330kw . Kyles first competition event will be the D1NZ Round 1 at Manfield 26/27th October.

Kyle is currently looking for a couple more tier 2 sponsors, so if you are keen then please contact him via his FB page.

Kyle thanks his long suffering partner Bex, Top Town Tyres, DTM Wheels, Supreme Panel & Paint, Coltons Motors, Shane Reid Auto Electrical, TeRapa Automotive, Sinco Customs, Demon Graphics.
